Just to be pedantic, whatever trauma triggered Ariana Dumbledore's mental illness wasn't caused by magic (she was assaulted by a gang of Muggles) but the Dumbledore family had no way to fix it

I'm fairly certain she just thinks mental illness in general isn't really fixable by magic just like magic can't permanently change your appearance (the Revelio spell in FB1 instantly dispels all Transfiguration, etc)
