I have never once seen the police NOT show up for a 911 call of any kind, except the single instance I described below. I've even asked for them to not come, and they still came, just to yell an interrogation at an semi-conscious, incoherent overdose patient.

I once called 911 because a coworker was convulsing in a diabetic seizure. A cop showed up, rolled his eyes, and left, and a few minutes later firefighters showed up and treated him. No explanation for why the cop came was ever offered.
