It's not like being someone who used to get Chick-Fil-A all the time and now never eats there anymore The actual developers' period of employment is now over, and they are going to go on to do a different gig You are not going to get anyone laid off if one game bombs

Well, you might because the game industry sucks. But the more likely scenario is that most workers will be laid off no matter how well the game does.

More accurately, they already were all "laid off" when the game shipped because that's how the industry works and they all have other jobs now
