(There's a famous review of Motorhead's Ace of Spades that describes the opening guitar riff as sounding like "the simultaneous end of the world and beginning of a new one" Which is a florid way to describe any song, but it's definitely how I hear the beginning of Megalovania)

Anyway, I say that because it's meta Megalovania is a song Toby Fox wrote by wanting to rip off "Megalomania" (the final boss theme from Live A Live) but not make it obvious, so he yelled random musical phrases, recorded it, then tried to translate it into an SNES soundfont

It's a song that went from an Earthbound ROM hack he made when he was a teenager to a song he reworked for a video for Homestuck to a song he put as an easter egg for the hidden ending to a Kickstarter project he aimed at the Homestuck furry fandom
