Yeah, fructose malabsorption here, been there with the risk of onion in a burger patty It's a hard call sometimes

Onions and bell peppers set me off too, but I have no idea why other peppers don't. Bell peppers are possibly worse than Garlic in fact.

Everyone has their own sensitivities! Some people with fructose issues are fine with tomatoes, for others they're the worst. Any difference between red and green peppers? (red is meant to be overall worse, more sorbitol)

I haven't tested. I also hate the taste of them so it's no real loss. Just unpleasant when someone sneaks them into a wrap or something I grab for lunch when out.

It's something in the juice of onions that gets me. No idea what. Granulated or really well fried onions *can* be okay. I can take hotter peppers no problem too. It's weird as fuck.

Alliums in general were considered anti-vampire protection (and anti-evil protection in general) in folklore, with garlic just being the strongest one Because they produce a mildly toxic chemical that gives them their pungency that helps ward off spoilage (an antifungal)

Dogs and cats are much more sensitive to it than humans (as carnivores they didn't evolve our ability to neutralize plant toxins) so you're in good company, along with the vampires
