If you got pissed about the time Jennifer Lawrence's nudes leaked - which you should have - but now you're jokingly "celebrating" Chris Evans' nudes leaking, you're an awful person Jsyk

People are celebrating his leaked nudes? That's... gross. I mean, I know the impact will be different on his career etc., but looking at leaked nudes that said person didn't consent to you looking at is still awful and still a breach of consent.

They were NOT leaked. Unless you’re accusing him of being the leaker. Why is this hard?

Unintentionally released, then. He didn't mean for them to be seen and doesn't now. That should be enough.

Ok, you’re assuming his intent based on the deletion. I lean toward agreeing but it’s not the same as a phone hack. Given the promo practices of “celebs”, I wouldn’t be surprised by a salacious image that’s “accidentally” posted on purpose. Not claiming his was, but intent is key

HIS intent, not anyone else's. And consent is denied if not explicitly granted. While it's probably legal to circulate the photos, it's a violation of his consent, and any good person should recoil from doing it.

I agree. Private images shouldn’t be shared. But I’m having trouble comparing an IG post to stolen property. My ignorance is showing here but how can consent be denied on a social media platform? Isn’t that up to IG terms & policies? Or does the poster retain the rights?

I'm not speaking in legal terms but in moral ones Legally, in point of fact, it's more complicated than you're saying -- but his photos remain his copyright and he could in theory DMCA anyone who takes them off his IG story and reposts them without consent (but obviously won't)

Morally, this is a ridiculous argument to be having He obviously doesn't actually want people looking at his nudes and this galaxy brain argument that it's a social media manipulation plot to go viral (as though *Chris Evans* of all people needs more followers) is utter shit
