Oh yeah Dhampir with an "I" are the Kindred-born ones

Meh, whatever, there is no way anyone would keep track of the i/y thing in-universe, especially because Kuei-jin would have no reason to use an Albanian word

Somehow, per literature, that's exactly what they do. A bunch of Asian half-dead walking around calling themselves dhampyr if on the continent (or "Shade Walkers" or "Twilight Children"), or makai if in Japan (or Makuro Hiko). WW in 2000 strikes again.

I’d love to join in on this TTRPG talk, but unfortunately WoD is the one White Wolf/Onyx Path game I don’t play.

Well, there are two Worlds of Darkness. Old World of Darkness, which had a metaplot, and New World of Darkness, which doesn't. You're probably better off knowing neither at this point.

Then I’m gonna go with the more obscure White Wolf property reference: We did it everyone! California is officially a shadowland!!

Shadowrun was FASA

Nah, a Shadowland is a place where the Underworld merges with the regular world in White Wolf’s other RPG Exalted.

By the way, if you haven’t tried it yet, Exalted is a TON of fun.

Interestingly, the last son of the Solar Exalted shows up in "Half-Damned: Dhampyr", having lived through the World of Darkness since the First Age. See the Kuei-Jin, the "Kindred of the East", are the remnants of the Dragon-Blooded/Terrestial Exalted, finally corrupted.

Yeah if you buy into the idea of this crossover then the Imbued/Hunters are the new Solar Exalted, which is... very controversial

I like to go with it because it...well, because I like the idea of Solar Exaltation, like everything else in the OWoD, just getting fucked up as the eons pass.

The former Kings of Creation now having no obvious purpose left but vindictively punishing their former vassals, yes
