he didn't do that to prove anything to klaue. He kills klaue five seconds later, and killing his girlfriend allowed him to do that

again, literally every kill he makes in the film has a clear motive and practical reason for him to do it. That doesn't make it right, but to say he kills capriciously is straight up wrong.
