It's still one of the most negative depictions of the CIA I've seen in a big popcorn movie Ross himself may be more or less presented as a decent guy but he goes ahead and tells us Killmonger is also a CIA agent and everything he does in Wakanda is exactly what he's trained tohttps://twitter.com/AlexandraErin/status/1302603237690945537 …

Also the gratuitous hero moment they gave him was explicitly calling back to his career *before* the CIA, in the Air Force ("I looked you up, you were a great pilot") I don't think we're ever really given anything that makes the CIA itself look good

He's only BARELY actually in the CIA, as far as I can tell. Like, it's his official affiliation, yeah, but he's not doing CIA stuff or working with CIA superiors or anything else. He's just vaguely an 'agent'

It should be pointed out that from the moment he wakes up in Wakanda and doesn't even try to report to his superiors, takes direct orders from T'Challa and then Shuri in the course of their civil war, etc, he's gone rogue

The fact that he makes good on his promise not to blab about Wakanda's secrets to the US government is a pretty blatant betrayal of his oath

It seems fairly unimpressive for the CIA that they failed to discover even the existence of Wakanda, or obtain any real amount of vibranium beyond what went to the SSR to make Cap's shield.

Lol Ulysses Klauwe obtained several times as much vibranium as the US government or SHIELD ever has, and he's a mildly clever huge piece of shit

wait, explicitly a CIA agent? i mean, is he actively working for the CIA or for a collection of "inteligence agencies"? becouse for me is not clear what Agent 13 and him really do, or the structure they work for, more like "US Goberment" with Thunderbolt Ross at the head

In Black Panther they explicitly say "CIA"
