The issue honestly isn't whether someone who does harmful things is "at fault" in some deep moral sense, whether he's going to heaven or hell The issue is whether someone who has used what power they have to harm people in the past can be trusted with more powerhttps://twitter.com/gingervitusRVA/status/1301339936201809925 …

And again, why is anyone framing this as punishment? Being denied power over other people isn't punishment!

I'm gonna be blunt, I don't care about Aaron Coleman's welfare at all myself and I'm not gonna pretend I do But if I did I would be begging him to delete Twitter and drop out of the fucking election and leave politics alone

Like, this isn't even from a "get help, become a better person" standpoint From a totally amoral Machiavellian standpoint, this idea he has that he's going to *get away with it* is utterly delusional One way or another he's going to totally wreck his life over this shit, soon

And the sooner this circus ends the less damage will be done to everybody, including him Like how does he not get that it is completely his fault that now the entire goddamn country has seen his ex's receipts

I completely agree that it'd be better if he dropped out—but I honestly think he will get away with it. Abuse of women just doesn't matter to most people; we don't *count* as people. We never have.

And that sounds melodramatic, but I just don't see another interpretation at this point.

I actually think it's disturbingly likely he might squeak through and win the general election (mostly just due to voter apathy) But that just puts off the inevitable total meltdown a couple years into the future, when it will be worse

Like, one of the things he's delusional about is that he's not that smart and he's not that slick I don't think he's doomed because, like, the world is a just place (if he had charisma or intelligence or just a lot of money he could have a long successful career)

But he clearly doesn't have any of those things, he actually sucks, he sucks way too much not to fuck himself over soon And arguably the bigger names who've helped prop him up because of their delusional fantasy he'll be their white male AOC are being extremely cruel to him
