Well considering that Medicare for all is a federal policy, its not applicable in this race. What I do know is that trying to tie a federal policy into a state issue will only hurt our chances for Medicaid expansion. Something I have fought hard for, for years.

Two major flaws with your reasoning: 1.) Canada’s governing system while similar to the US operates in distinctly different ways, so that’s not comparable.

2.) Medicare is a federally funded program created by federal law. Due to preemption set up by the US Constitution state law can not override federal law.

However, fighting for things like Medicaid expansion, which is a state controlled program, can actually impact the lives of Kansans. That’s why I have done everything I can to fight to bring Medicaid expansion to Kansas. An actually achievable change that would benefit all.

Actually, if you look at all the state level polls, news articles, and editorials, it shows Kansans are seriously worried about getting Medicaid expansion done. I can send you the links to them if you’d like.

No. Two things can be true. Kansans can want Medicaid expansion and Medicare for all. Because one is a state system the other is federal. Medicaid expansion would alleviate some harsh realities for Kansans while the Federal Government works on Medicare for all.

It's too late, Kansas can't set the trend because Vermont already set the trend The trend that Vermont set was the legislature triumphantly passing a bill and then it going unfunded for three years before it was abandoned, making everyone look bad It's a bad trend to follow

If you want Kansas to set a new, different trend and succeed where Vermont failed, it'd be nice to have specifics on how that would work other than "We already have the power to levy taxes" (so did Vermont)
