I don't want to fucking hear any shit about how what we're going through in the US was inevitable and the quarantine/containment strategy was an impossible dream I have relatives in Taiwan who are going to work at the office, going out to eat, hanging out in bars

It IS inevitable when you have a country run like a business on a for profit for its shareholders model. America doesn't give a shit about people. It only cares that its billionaires make obscene amounts of money and contribute nothing back. America: Die for the Economy.

I don't think it's even that, like Taiwan is not a "socialist" country by a long shot, and neither is South Korea There's a fuckton of capitalism out there (and it's fucked up and ruins lives and so on just like capitalism here) They're just more rational about the whole thing

It's not just that our country is "run like a business" Our country is being run like a business that's just undergone a hostile takeover and asset stripping Our CEO *wants the business to fail*, so he can lay everyone off and cash out

Like I don't know if Donald Trump is actually thinking coherent thoughts in his head at all anymore But none of the thoughts he's thinking go beyond November It's obvious his "strategy" is just to last one more election by any means necessary
