I've often felt there's a particular irritating and toxic dynamic among society at large where because Christianity is currently dominant, therefore *Judaism's* origins, imagery, divinity and theology are considered Fair Hegemonic Gain. We get the worst of both worlds kinda.

I mean Most observant Jews on this earth genuinely aren't following a faith I feel is benevolent towards people like Yonah or me Shapiro's god sure the fuck ain't mine

Shapiro isn't necessarily that representative of mainstream American Judaism, for example, though.

Agreed - and I mean, the Torah, read literally or for its original meaning, isn't really Judaism either.

So at least for this discussion as it started, we're really not talking about anything that was ever called "Judaism" but rather, the pre-Jewish Israelites that first redacted and enscribed the Torah.

Ok but the thing is it's *closer* to something we should rightfully "own" than anyone else. Christians do not have *equal* claim to that heritage, and yet people regularly feel free to be able to define and usurp it for their own needs in ways they would NOT do w/say, Vedic.

Non-Jewish folks feel like they can freely declare what Is and Is Not True abt the foundations of Judaism w/o really putting special focus on the Jewish perspective thereof, and it's weird.

I guess? I'm not usually too concerned about appropriation of anything that happened before Judaism and Christianity clearly divided. Now, granted, that can sometimes include later storytelling about earlier events.

I mean, I am, because as I've personally stated before, imo Christianity is almost wholly Roman and Greek in its core. But the end result I quibble with is how a people who are primarily *oppressed* get the condemnation, in their spirituality, rightly aimed @ their oppressors.

And it is always primarily trying to tear down specifically the Torah narratives - as I've mentioned before, very few narratives actively take potshots at *Christ* but not God. And you certainly don't have the same *eagerness* to discredit other faiths' roots you do Judaism.

For the record, when I mentioned Fritz Leiber earlier, the stuff about Issek of the Jug is much more obviously and directly a cynical parody of Christianity and Christ than anything else
