That about sums it up. Us women should just accept that, when a man wants it, we just give it and forget that our individual existence matters.

Genuinely, I want you to know I don't think that. Sexual abuse is wrong and if you have been hurt by it I wish you peace and comfort.

My general thoughts are that this is becoming a more brutal society. If we can't redeem abusers, we have no hope. We are all constantly brutalized and we all lash out. Aaron didn't run on abusing women. I feel this was a big accomplishment and something good he did. That's it.

People trying to take that away from him. Telling him he is only his worst self, that he is irredeemable. I don't buy that. I think you all should examine your own motives here.

It's not a great accomplishment, it's an act of narcissistic self-aggrandizing that was guaranteed to reopen wounds that have barely had time to heal

"Political wins", in and of themselves, aren't good actions They're at best neutral - they are inevitably grabbing power, status and attention for yourself at the same time that they're trying to advance any kind of cause The (relatively) decent politicians admit it

Even someone whose personal life was as relatively squeaky clean as Obama admitted that running for office took a huge toll on his family and the people around him, that he was asking them to make a sacrifice of their privacy and safety

Christ if this guy gave a shit about his victims' feelings at all the one quote to a reporter saying it made her feel like shit to have to see him in public all the time would've been reason enough to drop out

And..he cited his victims' wishes as part of his reason for dropping out. So he obviously didn't give a shit about them when he dove right back in.

I mean, he said that reluctantly when I called him out over it His initial tweet announcing his withdrawal was pure petulant flounce, "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" shit

Pretty much says it all when one frames Nixon as a victim.

He didn't say that, I'm comparing his reaction to the one Nixon had when he withdrew from politics after losing the CA gubernatorial election to Pat Brown in 1962
