The atheism question -- "Is God/the gods actually there or not?" -- seems far less interesting and meaningful to me nowadays than the alatrism question -- "Is there any good reason to worship God/the gods, if they exist?" https://t.co/jVB3McHz9b

I have never agreed with one of your tweet threads more than this one. For most people, particularly people who are not super intellectual, there is no meaningful distinction between believing in God and believing that their life has purpose.

Except this analysis omits God as wrath,& retribution, Old Testament or the triune concepts in Hinduism. Beliefs have to be tied into a larger pseudo-kinship network.

Yes. Monotheism divides 'God' into good and bad, the same way that writers of fables divide characters into 'evil stepmother' and 'good mother' for children. A view of the world this simplistic denies reality for most people: beyond a young age, there is simply more complexity.
