Are you sure it's not 'thoughtcrime'. Maybe this is a variation was used in the book, but I don't recall it.

Yes, Newspeak doesn't inflect verbs and it always uses the same adjective-noun order to make compounds

It also tends to only have "positive" words and describe negative things as "un-whatever" Like almost all synonyms of "bad" or "wrong" or "harmful" are just "ungood", there is no specific word "wrong"

"Crime" is an exception to this, and that's because "crime" is a specific category of thing that mandates an immediate hostile response as soon as you notice it in any form (distinct from things just being "ungood", which in the shitty world they live in happens all the time)
