You can qualify the statement down into something that is more true -- "In many countries like the UK the concept of a credit rating is much more limited in scope and can't be boiled down to a single numerical score" -- but then you don't get the clicks

The fact that OP is protesting in the comments that what she's saying is defensible on a technicality ("the best kind of correct!") but obviously people aren't reading it that way and she still hasn't deleted it is why the Internet sucks and has made us less informed than we were

We do not have credit scores in Switzerland. Only a registry of the times you were liable to money collection for failure to pay a debt. If you pay the debt, the entry gets removed.

Yes, but this is very different from what she means by "not having a credit score" The concept of credit *rating* exists anywhere there's the concept of credit -- it has to, otherwise all lines of credit are just free money

German here. We have Schufa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schufa The more extensive german entry has a whole sub page solely about "scoring". https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schufa#Scoring … I'd guess the american version is the worst one? But you don't have a monopoly on this bullshit in general.

Our version includes factors like age, gender or how often you move. Which is a bit shitty. You're moving for a new job and your score lowers a bit for example. So it's also arbitrary here. Again, I imagine, it's wores in the US, because most everything is worse there. But still.
