FTR I’m not big on using etymology to prove people are bigots. That includes a wide range of things within my own lane, from actual lesbians saying dyke to people who aren’t trans not knowing the most up to date term for “trans person” to that ridiculous shtstorm about “bad”

Now, you get someone consistently calling trans people “crossdressers,” and not changing when called out, that’s a problem (I don’t necessarily think they need to apologize; frankly I’d be pretty happy if some older celebrity dude corrected on that sort of thing)

But if we get to a point where trans and other queer people are not in the immediate primary crosshairs of the right as the easiest people to go after (it’ll be a while, sadly) I can see “bad” being weaponized against a cis creator

“He said this thing is ‘bad,’ what a betrayal for his trans friends! Cis people who point out this is absurd are complicit!”
