I really need to finish Monk. I just tend to get uncomfortable watching it. I think because of how often the humor is based in embarrassment and...I don't know, maybe I'm too empathetic or something. I just don't enjoy it. It's a big reason why I can't do sitcoms.

There's some controversy over the fact that the "first rule of gun safety" is "the gun is always loaded", like it's not actually literally true but it's phrased in a way to make sure newbies understand the appropriate amount of fear
-
Yeah, it's worded that way because the instant you lose that respect that firearms are weapons intended to be lethal is the instant you start doing shit like posting photos of your Glock to your Instagram with the muzzle on your junk.

The general idea is redundancy; you have to ignore all four to actually have a negligent discharge. (Accidental discharges come from mechanical failure and if you're handling the gun properly it still shouldn't hurt anyone.)

Yes, which is exactly why i boiled it down to those two. I do know the Four Rules. (I just also think teaching gun novices to check the safety position, assuming we're talking about a weapon with a safety, is z good idea.)
