TERFs completely give the game away when they talk like this Like this is what they're in it for -- a class of women they get to direct misogyny against while denying that's what they're doingpic.twitter.com/BNfwJo52mr

The logic is simple -- "Oh, you're NOT a woman, but you WANT to be one, huh? Then you must WANT all the bad shit that comes with being a woman" I'm sure from their POV it makes perfect sense and the shit they do is totally cathartic and justified It isn't, though, it's garbage

It's funny because a lot of people do seem to have this simmering desire to say objectively shitty things but have a "safe" target to take it out on To make racist jokes but not actually be a racist, etc. A huge pull of the shitty "Irony Twitter" culture is just about this

And the people who are into transmisogyny just go ham on this Every shitty thing you want to say to women you get to say to these people and it doesn't "count" -- hell, it's a *defense* of *real* women and makes you *more* feminist

It's bad enough that TERF women do this but TERF men do it all the time and TERF women give them all this praise and applause over it Graham Linehan just filled with seething fury posting pics and talking about how gross and ugly and dumb various people are

Graham Linehan tried to pile drive on me one time and then no one engaged and it was the scariest and then most relieved moment of my life

There's that saying: Cis men treat trans women in public the way they treat cis women in private. The encouragement of misogynistic men by GC women is dangerous. It spills over to cis women. Look how Lineh*n went for the throat of any cis woman who dared disagree with him.

Remember when he was being interviewed about his transphobia, and when the interviewer - a cis woman - gently corrected him, he was visibly *furious*? Like the first time I ever saw "shaking with rage" literally.

Punching down is very much loved sport within their community. It lets them feel superior, and also gets them recognised as a ‘good woman’ by sexist/misogynistic men. Which at its heart is just reinforcing the gender stereotypes and misogyny that they claim to be so against.

And the fact that women are doing it means that the men are given something akin to a “free pass” because they can point and say, “I can’t be misogynistic! Look! There are women saying the same things!”
