The second one is my favorite contemporary version of Moriarty at least because he's not some Sherlock obsessive and he doesn't even particularly care about Sherlock except he's an impediment

Downey gets the physicality. Remember how in The Speckled Band the villain bends the poker and Holmes wordlessly straightens it. I don't see the various neurasthenic Holmeses managing that. If you're going with the neurodiverse sociopath, the Japanese MISS SHERLOCK does it best.
