That's not the same as believing a conspiracy-theory-style narrative that these charges were "dug up" or somehow fabricated as soon as he became a threat to power They were known, and the KC DSA and KC Young Dems had refused to endorse and in the latter case expelled him

They also don’t seem to have the slightest clue about the KS legislature. There are only 41 Democrats in the house, out of 125 seats. Unseating a conservative Democratic incumbent in a safe seat (around Kansas City or Lawrence) is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
