Pops does not fight the ninjas in that episode but he does reveal he was a champion wrestler in college and use good old wrassling to beat fancy martial arts when he fights a stereotypical Japanese biker gang (I guess "punks" wasn't a word back then either)

I guess what complicates the sneering people have about weeaboos etc is that a lot of the bullshit is homegrown Like, the absurd stereotypes of "samurai" and "ninja" we have were *already there* in Japanese culture before we got wind of it, which doesn't make it any more real

Yeah the shaolin temple is and was a real place, it has been destroyed a bunch of times, but also we're not entirely sure when, and we don't know what specific techniques it proliferated even if we can trace the impact its name had
