The argument that Aaron Coleman would be a better representative than Stan Frownfelter because of Coleman's "position on abortion" is identical to the argument that you should vote for Donald Trump because he's "against war"

1) I don't think political positions outweigh character and competence, particularly since Frownfelter is quite a bit more amenable to compromise than you're making him out to be 2) It doesn't even matter because I don't give a single ounce of credence to Coleman's "positions"

He's a fucking 19-year-old shitposter who ran for the seat as a stunt with no expectation of winning, he has zero credibility I wouldn't trust him to watch my apartment over the weekend, much less trust him to represent me in office

Having lived in that state where quality Dems are few and far between I still gotta question whether this nasty piece of work is really the only Progressive available. Like throw a dart at a list of any campus SDS or whatever and surely they'd land on something better.

I completely understand the frustration people feel when being in the extreme political minority means any serious, competent politician available for office holds positions you find abhorrent And therefore you start to go "Well let's elect someone unserious and incomptetent!"

In the sense that you asked who I was voting for in the general election and I said him, yes

You wanna make the case that Aaron Coleman is the Joe Biden of this election and Stan Frownfelter is the Donald Trump, go ahead and make it But you've got to make it on both sides, from both directions -- tell me exactly how Frownfelter is the Trump here

Frownfelter's record on, for e.g abortion (something he did as an adult), has been more consequential and harmful to many more women than the few shitty things Coleman did when he was 12-14, and has apologised for.

Yes, it also seems pretty obvious that one reason Coleman dropped out is increased scrutiny on his politics has indicated his politics are paper-thin, easily changeable and he's just saying whatever gets him likes

The worst thing about these guys defending him is they're falling for the most obvious grift Fuck's sake who the hell thinks a rando teenager who repeatedly runs for office as a stunt has a genuinely thoughtful commitment to socialism
