It's reversed from the basic purpose of a strike too Rather than demonstrating how valuable the service is so workers get treated better The point is to try to persuade America the service sucks and they don't need it to justify laying people off

I called my local PO looking for a package and the employee was so apologetic. Said he’s worked there for 32 years and has never been in a position where he can’t help his customers. He sounded so defeated.

Yeah I found people discussing whether USPS employees could legally go on strike over this and had to point out the leverage of strike is it damages the business. It’s just handing the arsonist gasoline under these circumstances.

This tracks so well with my personal experience this year with the post office. It got shitty for a minute with the COVID package influx, was getting better, then went straight to shit when DeJoy assumed his position.
