They always have this myopic view that the vast majority of people were terrible teenagers. (Perhaps telling.) But let's assume they are right and, like, 75% of people were shitty teens. Why is it wrong to prefer that the people in power come from the 25% that weren't?

All the legislators, mayors, governors, city councilors, judges etc, add up to, like, 0.05% of the population. You could even through in all the police officers and only get to 1%. Shouldn't this 1% come from the portion of the population that doesn't suck?
