It's so weird that acquiring a mental illness is supposed to put an asterisk on the condition that it's all temporary or an illusion, when there's no problem accepting the permanence of physical injuries.
The thing about generational trauma that’s so fucked is that it’s thrust upon us against our will, and yet we’re still 100% responsible for our actions and culpable for the negative paths it leads us down.
And while it’s an altogether different question whether or not *any* 19 year old is socially and politically mature enough to succeed in an elected position, it also leads to a question of whether one is mature enough to truly process and reform that kind of trauma infliction.
