I am opposed to reconciling anything in a way that makes it easier for devout Catholics to remain Catholics The nadir of Liz's public politics was when she tried to do this for the child sex abuse scandal in the Church, but doing it for anything else is also pretty bad
It's as pointless a thing to argue as arguing that Republicans need there to be a Republican Party

Hell I would go further than that and say that it's clearly possible for Catholics to remain Catholic by their own personal definition of the term without meeting Liz's definition (of maintaining an unbroken tradition of confession going back to the imaginary time of St Peter)

And that Catholics as an actual demographic in the US are increasingly dominated by liberal "cafeteria Catholics" and Liz's whole objection that that's not real Catholicism is no one's problem but hers
