I don't think he'd deny almost everything about the dub was extremely campy and goofy but I mean they literally paid him like a few hundred bucks per episode and expected him to get a script turned around in one day and a recording done the day after that

A lot of the affection people have for these old school anime dubs is understanding that this was an artform born of adversity Nerding out over this shit where all the grownups in charge saw these weird Japanese cartoons as nothing but a way to fill timeslots on the cheap
