And he kind of laughed off my surprise that he just showed up out of nowhere by liking the tweet where I was just like "...damn." Chill af behavior, I was for sure put in my place

In multiple senses of the term (he was the looming threat waiting to go off and turn the situation violent)

Honestly the fact that he was willing to put himself out there in that movie to the degree he did I find really impressive Making that be the Wham Line "If there's an infinite number of possible me's out there... how many of us have been drinking"

The hilarious discomfort where his character reveals that he was the star of beloved teen dramedy Roswell And then his guest is like "I loved that show when I was a girl! Which episode were you on?" "I was... I was on all of them. I was a series regular"

It is very obvious he is not actually talking about Roswell, a show that prominently featured TWO guys (Max and Michael) Buffy is, in fact, one of the very few shows in this category where there's exactly one guy you can point to and say "he was the guy"

Anyway it was a very cynical and morose look at what his life once was and what his life has now become that I thought was really brave for an actor to do for an indie film, especially with him not being the main character

Given how much of that movie was improvised, I've wondered if that whole bit wasn't Nicholas Brendon's idea in the first place. At the very least he leaned into it with his full body weight.

I was at a Q&A at a festival be the director talked about it and said while the lines were improvised the characters and the story weren't, he gave them an outline and let them work from it In particular the outline made the show Roswell because he wanted the indirect reference

He did a great job of making it feel like an interaction he'd actually had at some point.

It was also kind of funny that in hindsight he says it that way because they were legally worried about actually naming anything specific from the show Roswell
