Stumbled upon or not, they are useful types. Few tests have 100% accurate assumptions. Scientists, including social scientists, hopefully live & learn-- as do all of us in our society. At times tho, ppl go bkwards--as we currently are bc of the propaganda so many voters believe

Yes, that happens. But most tests use words, and that can happen with many words. Compared to other tests, I find it good, as long as it's not used inappropriately, as it is now, probably more often than not.

Psychological rsrch is far from have a perfect personality test. But MBTI has a lot more reliability & validity research done on it that most other personality tests. E.g. the enneagram has very little. I find it also useful in some ways and flawed in others, however.

My MBTI result changed drastically from INTP to INFJ after college I do not think this is actually because I changed my "dominant function" during that time, I think it's because I recognized that when I said I was a "rational" person before, I was wrong

Yes, the test isn't accurate 4 every1. & college can change understandings of mngs of words like rational. IBM was like all of us a flawed human. I didn't know b4 she was racist. She overestimated scope of what she found. Later personality psychologists will hopefully learn more
