I'm still not over the MBTI thing It's like a damn Onion article "The lady who invented the modern concept of personality tests also, in her spare time, wrote a novel about a whole family who kill themselves because they discover they are tainted by 'Negro blood'"

All these people going "I'm a rational person, I make my decisions based on my logical reasoning rather than my emotions How do I know? Because someone asked me if I did and I said yeah"
-
This is a rant I have a lot about "scienciness" and "opinion laundering" If someone just said "I think I'm a logical person and I don't get my feelings involved" you probably would give that self-assessment the very low weight it deserves

I have no idea how to start here but... apparently, mbti is horribly misunderstood by most people?like it doesnt actually say youre a logical person. Instead it says that like, for example, you think introvertedly, thus you feel extrovertedly.
-
And also other shit but apparently theres some kinda function stack and like when you dive deeper into it, it becomes less about personality and more about what sorta tasks are easier for your brain to do.

I don't remember where I saw it, but the most concise and accurate assessment of it I've ever seen is "The MBTI is a horoscope for nerds."
-
one time i said mbti was kinda hokeypokey, my friend was like, "yeah, mbti is like horoscope for managers" so i mean yes

Can‘t remember if it was MBTI, but i remember at Uni we did these „personality tests“ in groups, but for the people we worked in a group with. That way you actually get an assessment based on experience, not on your own self-reflection.

Sounds like Belbin team roles- gives you space to talk about how you and others see you role within a specific team.

sure but we box ourselves based on subjective opinions in all areas of life anyways. flawed, but if anything, MBTI for sure gives us chance to learn from experiences of people who have put themselves in same box. also, flawed input data does not invalidate an alghoritm.
