Something that's weirding me out about the Wolfenstein alternate history games is that I remember seeing the old DOS game played and like, it was NOT this level of tone. Like, walk you through your childhood racist abuse and trauma flashback tone

It feels like if DOOM had decided to make its modern incarnation grounded in the darkest elements of Mass Effect style imagery, or if they made a new Duke Nukem which tried to seriously confront the implied sexual violence of the old games

Yeah, it makes ACME imperialists, Carmen is an orphan they abducted, she escapes with the help of a hacker and goes around the world stealing artifacts taken from native cultures to return them

The original bad guys aren't ACME, they're still VILE ACME is created during the course of the show's events in order to stop Carmen

I mean, ACME are still imperialists VILE are amoral monsters stealing from everyone in the world for profit, but ACME was created to oppose them by any means necessary in order to preserve the status quo Carmen ends up fighting both International Crime and International Law

It's a cool setup I don't know if they'll ever finish the arc, but as it reads right now, this show is written as a *prequel* to the situation in classic Carmen Sandiego She's going to neutralize each of VILE's council members one by one until none are left, then take over

If that's the case it means Zack and Ivy end up in ACME doesn't it?

Not everything perfectly matches up - none of the established backstories do But yes the "prequel" idea means in this version Zack, Ivy and Player would abandon Carmen and defect to ACME after she goes off the rails and takes over VILE

It could be just like a season arc where she goes bad and gets deposed
