Lack of healthcare makes Americans more vulnerable to pseudoscience and quackery promoted by money-making charlatans. We’re far from perfect but we’re much more robust at standing up to it because we don’t have medical bills to worry about.

I did not say that, I did not say I thought there was any difference in the number of trans people between countries (because I don't think trans people are some recently invented cultural phenomenon) I don't even think *transphobia*, itself, is that different between countries

At least not general, passive cis discomfort with trans people and trans issues, which is all too universal I think virulent, active, *ideological* transphobia -- TERFism -- is very clearly a distinctive British cultural product
