And Ultron's problem with Tony is not "you kept my AI father/twin/whatever as a slave and deserve to die for that" it's "you're not doing enough genocide."

And Jarvis is necessary to defeat Ultron (and become the Vision as a reward of sorts), which just makes Tony seem more impressive. He's God here, and he found his prophet.

These are very much uninteresting creative choices, but they do make the movie fun and easy, by avoiding any major challenges.
