I deleted a tweet and reposted it because it had a bunch of typos and Twitter has no edit button

Also, that's a pretty wild rhetorical framing Acting like not killing someone is some kind of sinister, manipulative strategy to avoid censure for killing someone, by... not doing it

"Cancelation" isn't a EUPHEMISM for murder if you don't actually murder the person It's just actually literally NOT MURDER The reason it's easier to "shrug off the severity" of someone being "canceled" vs someone being burned at the stake is it is A FACT that it is NOT SEVERE

I mean yeah, in a broader context I would agree that the term "violence" describes a spectrum of harms and it's useful to use the term in a broader, less literal way It's just really obnoxious that, as Traister says, conservatives only suddenly discover this when it's on them

They jeer and hoot and holler about how ridiculous the wokies are for saying that white people using the N-word is "violence" but suddenly if a bunch of people call a white guy a "racist bigot" on Twitter it's Serious Business

Like yeah okay if having a boss who has the power to just instantly fire you and mess up your life by fiat is a "violent" thing to experience, and I agree that it is, then that violence is happening TO EVERYONE ALL THE TIME

You can't say that that's normal and just a part of life and then flip the fuck out when some rich famous racist guy gets fired That's bullshit You're saying the racist guy deserves more rights, FOR BEING RACIST, than the Burger King cashier who gets fired for no reason

That's that joke the Onion made that's actually kind of serious now If you're about to get fired for being bad at your job or hated by your boss the smart play is to say something racist on Twitter first Then you get fired for that instead and you can set up a GoFundMe
