Is that really a surprise though? Like a lot of it does just stem back to either a: resentment of people whose retort is being Trump, gleefully monstrous, or b: empathetic or anguished souls who want to create SOME world where things end up going alright.

I really do think a lot of this is just predictable a Bad Times flight, and in particular a lot of progressives are so broken by what feels like decades of triumphant evil shot directly into our minds via mass news they flee.
