And yeah, I think that this is honestly Orwell's fault He genuinely had a steady rightward drift during the 1940s, he was becoming a reflexive left-puncher The real threat was always among revolutionaries, the existing conservative authorities were a joke, not worth mentioning

This review of Lewis’ “That Hideous Strength”? Or something else? http://lewisiana.nl/orwell/

Nah his response to Mere Christianity (The fact that this review of That Hideous Strength doesn't say that much except that it's a fun story and a well written novel that kind of falls apart at the end indicates his dislike of Lewis cooled off afterwards)

I love it that you're still commenting. Like I got up, made some coffee, put bacon in the oven and you're still vomiting everywhere. The experience of watching it can only be described by this clip: https://youtu.be/Ec7rCsNFn30?t=20 … The category is even 'reflections of society in lit'

Yeah I know, pearls before chuds That's why I RT everything, I'm not really talking to you

I'd also suggest that people need to read his piece on James Birnham to fully understand 1984. 1984 isn't a portrayal of what Orwell thought was going to happen, it's a dramatisation of what Birnham said was going to happen.

What’s funny about recommending Homage to Catalonia is he wrote an entire book about his reception of the war yet he didn’t even speak the language - how valid is his perception of what’s happening? It’s 2+2=5 on steroids. Though, great book.
