I think the reason I lost interest in chess was because after playing it a million times somebody pointed out that the point isn't to ASSASSINATE the enemy king, you have to entrap him, and I was like this game sucks I just want to shoot him with a cannon

But my understanding/experience is that when playing poker, say, talking about and openly reacting to the game during the game is a part of the whole experience and part of the psychological strategy of it all

But *directly critiquing another player's play* is considered crossing a big line You keep your strategy thoughts to yourself There was a WSOP winner who did not do this and got a really big backlash because of it
