I really do think public education is important but the extent to which it has caused people to smugly embrace simplifications of reality like "2+2=4, there are only two sexes, Columbus discovered America" really, really makes me resent it

That's fun, it keeps you engaged Always being in the act of adjusting and reframing and translating, as a generation that learned to adjust to having a dozen tabs open on our desktop at all times Having it actually explained just feels so *slow* by comparison

(I don't like it when they say it as a moral panic thing or a bad thing but to a certain extent I think it's accurate to say that as a population "technology gave us ADHD" and that's actually pretty cool)
