Aye, I sometimes read college level physics and chemistry textbooks for fun as early as grade 5 or 6. A lot of stuff I couldn't fully understand, but it was still a great way to learn interesting stuff.

It makes you independent. Able to think for yourself. Not needing gatekeeper, no matter how nice and "mentory", to figure things out, is crucial. A pupil must surpass the master or knowledge doesn't evolve. Your "game" and challenges show a fun way to see and obtain wisdom
