I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here. I didn't say imprecise measurements were good, guy.

Then it really is not simple now is it? The specificity of math depends on its usage.

Explaining the concept of imprecise measurements to explain 2+2 potentially equalling 5 took me about 30 seconds. I thought it was pretty simple.

Then I guess I can round your IQ down. 2.4 J of energy combined with 2.4 J of energy is 4.8 J. Unless there is a Magic way to invent energy.

But if you're measuring megajoules...

Well I can tell you that if you go to a class and are given 2 +2 and answer 5 it will be counted as wrong, because the question is 2 and 2 with no decimals added equals 4.

That's because the only classes you can conceptualize for me are elementary ones.

Well there must be a base to form everything else. I just pray that you don’t do any job that has peoples lives in danger such as medicine, pilot, architect or structural engineer. Also stay away from explosives too.

I think the worst thing about this is how incredibly condescending these people are who seem to think they're that much smarter than the masses Like you seriously, honestly think the point of primary school education is to actively teach people what 2+2 is

The point of primary education is to teach the basics not this common core good enough crap. The purpose for which the math is being used is important and 2+2 will always be for. .002 + .002 will still equal what .005 nope .004.

Like I said, if you actually don't know what 2+2 is you can just ask Siri

The argument is still "2+2 doesn't always equal 4 because it might not actually be 2" You might not be innocent of assassinating the president because you might actually be John Wilkes Booth. You're close enough. One nose, two eyes, two ears...

Replying to @Gent_Sausage @arthur_affect and
You realize that understanding the distinctions and nuances here are exactly the point of the original pasta right? Understanding that there's imprecision, and knowing how to account for it actually *is* critical to these all important technical and medical fields...
