If your precision is in grams, and you measure 2.3 grams, it will be rounded down to 2 grams. If you add 2.3 grams to 2.3 grams, the resulting 4.6 will be rounded up to 5 grams. It's really simple.

The point of primary education is to teach the basics not this common core good enough crap. The purpose for which the math is being used is important and 2+2 will always be for. .002 + .002 will still equal what .005 nope .004.
