You realize that in your example you used that 2+2=4 to get 2.2 + 2.4 = 4.6 and then just rounded up to 5 right? Rounding up does not imply 2+2=5

in uni we learned about an experiment where kids ~ 10 years old were given "tasks" like: "Mark has 7 sheep and 5 cows. How old is Mark?" and the kids were like 12, 2, 35.. because they were programmed to just mindlessly do math and not taught critical, outside the box thinking.

learning that there is more to math and life in general than "multiply x and y" should be taught way more often in school.
