The more general way to phrase what I'm talking about is "Weigh them all together" If the scale has a fudge factor then adding up separate results from it will make it worse But the "2+2=5" idea is absolutely an accurate way of describing it

Estimates are useful for some things, but don't confuse that for mathematics. Comedy was a good career choice. Maybe your salary can be paid "in estimate". Should be fair.

no. a lie is is a lie. it might be the best you can do but it's still a falsehood that when known makes it a lie. If you know that two measurements are not exactly two and you report their addition as an exact 5, then you are lying.

Yes! This is epistemologically criminal what is going on here. He is trying to sever the relationship between the abstract concepts we use, and the real-world entities we perceive. It's all a form of "you can't know reality as it really is". 2+2=4!
