I'm still mad about this The VP is *supposed* to have ambitions of being President, traditionally It's supposed to be their motivation for actually contributing to the team and not dicking around for four years (since they can't easily be fired, unlike the presidential staff)https://twitter.com/mightygodking/status/1288620693698088960 …

The fact that that Joe Biden was supposed to be too old to run for President in 2016 and now he's the nominee in 2020 is, of course, yet another very pressing reason you want a VP who is prepared to become President

(I honestly feel like we're not talking about this nearly enough You can call it ageism if you like but if Joe Biden actually serves eight full years as President he'll be older than all my grandparents were when they died)

I'm just saying The President has historically always been "old" compared to the average age of the population but he's also generally been of an age where if you suddenly keel over of a heart attack it's a "shocking tragedy and unsolved mystery" and not "welp"

What better illustration of how badly the Boomers shut everyone after them out of power than a presidential election where everyone was in their 70s It feels like the media made Mayor Pete happen just so he could sit there in the debates and be Spiders Georg for the average age
