"normalizing cis people specifying pronouns" I like you, Arthur, but ...pic.twitter.com/ayKIUtSjOt
I haven't changed my bio since I started my Twitter and for some reason it feels weird to do so now
Please don't call people out for not having pronouns listed. You never know if any given person has left them out because they're in that awkward spot where they're tired of lying about their pronouns but they're not ready to admit them yet either. I spent a lot of time there.
Just to be clear, I'm not insinuating that Arthur is trans. I'm speaking in terms of general principle. I greatly appreciate it when people volunteer their pronouns, but pressuring anyone to do it is a bad look and ripe for unintended consequences.

I'm not calling Arthur it for "not having pronouns listed", but for saying it should be a normal thing for people to do and not doing it themself. I'm pointing out the discrepancy between words and deeds, whilst also acknowledging that the deed isn't required.
That's.... not how language works Saying "we should normalise it" without doing it isn't hypocrisy. That's not a call for everyone to do it.
That's why it was an incredibly minor criticism, in a thread between very few people.
And someone saying "we should normalise it" without actually doing any of the work to normalise it is worthy of comment.
Which is what I did.
I doubt @arthur_affect feels particularly criticised by my words, but the tiny amount that they feel is probably all that I was aiming for
I didn't actually say we should normalize it, I mentioned it as something people think should be normalized Although it's in my bio now so whatever
I haven't had a gender reveal party for myself either
If it makes you feel better I can buy you a cake?
