Not having any sex ed as a kid entirely fucked me up. I had questions I couldn't safely ask the adults who were supposed to be taking care of me, so I looked for those answers elsewhere. It left me intensely vulnerable to abuse and manipulation.

Plus, it creates this dichotomy that if a kid *does* know about sex for some reason, then they cannot actually be innocent, and therefore are dirty trash.

Which is just hella victim shaming, and shows that it's not actually protect the children, but just the children they've decided are good enough, those other ones are spoiled.
