In terms of refusing to abandon intersectionality just to win debates cheaply... I'll just say that I've seen far, far fewer trans people and trans allies say shit like "Well Caitlyn Jenner is RICHER than you so she's BETTER than you" than TERFs saying it about JK Rowling

On their side they are in full, unironic, unfiltered celebrity worship mode "JK Rowling made a billion dollars just for writing books and that's AAAMMMAAAZIIINNG She can shut down dissent in the media with one call to her lawyers STROOOONG WOOOMAAAN"

They simply do not have principles Especially not left-wing principles

Ha the sheer hypocrisy When all the Harry Potter actors came out as disagreeing with JK Rowling -- all of whom have significantly less money than she does -- the TERFs started yelling they were "spoiled Hollywood celebrities who owe her everything they've got"

That grotesque display still pushes my buttons just thinking about it Like getting paid a wage, even a very high wage, for acting isn't "real labor", but collecting royalties and selling movie rights for writing totally is

Is Chaz Bono wealthy?

Very often I hear that trans people don't understand what it means to be working class / are not oppressed because Caitlyn Jenner or some actress or model is the stereotype for trans women,I guess they dont care about trans men.
-
And I think I see examples of this argument used against other minorities as well Its all just a way to avoid acknowledging the material realities of trans people or the barriers that trans people face in society
