Like just on the level of having Venom and Spider-Man have no collection to each other whatsoever, it's a pretty awkward fit

I feel like the manner of Spidey's integration into the MCU was awkward enough on its own (if surprisingly well-executed) that this ship has sailed.

It seems like they're working from the Netflix/ABC arrangement *before* the broke up the studio to keep everyone from quitting the movies, i.e. "the lesser thing is going to keep bringing this up, the main thing maybe not."

Like... assuming they don't just NOT release "MORBIUS;" the already put the big connection thing for that *in the trailer,* so Sony is going all-in on "YES! THESE ARE TOTALLY MARVEL MOVIES AND YOU NEED TO WATCH THEM!"

But I imagine other than eventually wanting Tom Holland to be in a Black Suit so they can sell that specific toy, Marvel/Disney would rather wait and see if they're garbage before saying "Yes, absolutely, those are ours." But... unless they take that character/scene out...

....of "MORBIUS," in 'canon' terms it's pretty much set that at least that one "counts" I guess?

Then again, I fully expect that BOTH studios have (already) written themselves multiple licenses to say "Multiverse. Timey-Wimey. Fuck off." to anything they want to de/re/canonize and just have to film and release them (DR STRANGE 2, WANDAVISION, SPIDERVERSE 2)

Oh right, yeah no - I mean assuming he IS playing Vulture again with official "okay go" from Marvel/Disney, then that's that. If it's just an wink, different story.https://twitter.com/arthur_affect/status/1287716360999428099 …

Does Sony need Disney's go ahead? Sony owns the character, no?

Yeah if they have the rights to use the Vulture and they simply cast Keaton as the character again then Disney can't *really* do anything about (I mean they could try but it's not slam dunk enough a case to do anything about it really)

It's a similar case as the two dueling portrayals of Quicksilver in the X-Men movies and the MCU, except this time it's actually the same actor (But barring a really stringent/exploitative contract you can't actually "own" an actor)
